I love breakfast. I love it in the morning, I love it for dinner, I love it in the middle of the night. I just can’t say no to a good waffle. When I’m hotel shopping, whether or not there are waffles can often be a deciding factor. Just in case you’re wondering, the best breakfast waffles are the ones sprinkled around the Orlando hotel scene, the Mickey waffles. They’re magical at Disney but, flipping those mouse ears yourself, now that’s a great way to start the day.
I kid you not, I just stopped writing and spent a good 20 minutes trying to find a Mickey waffle iron (like the ones on property). If you know where to find it, send a link my way. I digress. My little family loves breakfast parties and hanging in our PJs. So the other day we did NOT suit up, we stayed in our PJs and made some chicken and waffles for brunch.
I love a good set of matching pajamas just as much as I love a good waffle. We love our Finn+Emma pajamas. They’re eco-friendly, non-toxic, and G.O.T.S. certified 100% cotton. Do you know what else they are? They’re well-made and durable. Their clothes are livable. They keep up with with the tumbling, crawling, tickling, and whatever new move Isabella is doing, we’ll call it “gymnastics”.
Ask Seth, sometimes our pajama parties can get a little messy. This means spills. Syrup, batter, egg yolks, strawberries, whipped cream, powdered sugar, they’ve all made their way onto our shirts at one point or another. Finn+Emma does not make spill-proof tops. They make up for it by making clothes that hold up in the wash. This means no fading and no shrinking. So I don’t worry about the mess.
It is so nice to be able to not worry about keeping the kids clean, it leaves more time for fun. We have so much fun in the kitchen. Isabella is such a great helper and Kate, well, Kate is handsy. This is where Zoe the flamingo comes in handy. Kate has always obsessed over Isabella’s “Mingo” the flamingo and now she’s thrilled to have her own. It keeps her from grabbing bowls and knocking things over when I’m not quick enough. Unfortunately, there is nothing to keep Isabella from sneaking a bite or seven when I’m not looking.
Sneaking a bite or seven is part of the fun. I really have so much fun in the kitchen with my babes. Even when it means I’m not in control of the mixer, ingredients are between slightly and severely off, and sometimes we mess up a waffle or two. The laughs and smiles make it all worth it.
Life is busy at our house and I’m sure it’s just as busy at yours. I refuse to waste time worrying about clothes fading, staining, or not fitting after a couple of washes. Thankfully Finn+Emma makes clothes I can obsess over but not worry about. Which leaves time to worry about how many plates of chicken and waffles I’ll be having.
What would you do with your worry-free time?
Thanks to Finn+Emma for sending us these great Zebra pajamas and to Susan Marinello Photography for capturing our kitchen fun.
